Marianna Love - Mixed Media

Paradise, CA

Marianna Love describes herself as an American expressionistic, visionary Artist painting in mixed media with an emphasis on using color as a healing force for beauty. She paints many vibrant florals and still lifes for their color and beauty.

She says she is not interested in reproducing nature as a camera would, but in using the inspiration of nature for creative design. She calls it "playing with creation".

She also enjosy painting her dreams/visions as well as nonrepresentional paintings for the freedom of inner expression and symbolic meaning. These soul pieces have led to her search for more radiant, luminous, archival materials, medias, and techniques to express the wonder of painting from within.

Born in McMillan, a small rural town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Brenda acquired a great love for the outdoors. Hours were spent studying and appreciating nature, and as her interest grew so did her fascination to capture it as she saw it.

She started a dream, and at the age of eleven, with her parents help and encouragement, shebegan a life-long career in art. As her love for wildlife grew so did her need to paint it. Brenda feel a closeness toward each animal as she works with it. "An animal's eyes, just as ours do, tell a story. I want my animals to come alive as you look at them, and speak to you. Their eyes can do that."

Brendas studio is located her in Paradise. From here, along with her husband Gene, and Welsh terrier, Shauni, travel to sell her work. She is pleased that her original art work is owned and hangs in homes all over the world, and is honored to include the White House on that list.

We're equally pleased to represent Brenda in our gallery!

Her work is in many private and corporate collections worldwide with an emphasis on healing/medical centers.Marianna has exhibited her work in many one woman shows and numerous group exhibitions, including 7 national juried shows.

In 1999, she retired from 25 years at Butte College creating and teaching such courses as Yoga, Mind, & Consciousness, Holistic Living, Psychology of Dreams, Psychology of Creativity and Intuition and from 12 years as a Transpersonal Psychotherapist in private practice. She currently teaches "Painting From the Heart: EnhancingYour Inner Artist, Taming Your Inner Critic" at various art centers.
