Now more than ever Jewelers and their customers are concerned with the lack of credibility and integrity in the diamond grading process.
Jewelers and consumers have created a demand for programs that will confirm each and every characteristic of a diamond. Programs that we at Fir Street Gallery have implemented to represent the diamonds we sell with 100% confidence.
As diamond brokers, we're proud to announce our Exclusive Triple Certification Program. To assure our customers of the exact grading specifications that we quote, diamonds above .45 cts will be accompanied by the following:
A Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or European Gemological Laboratory (EGL) Certificate.
These two labs are amongst the largest and most reputable labs in the industry.
A Trade Up Certificate containing a photographic image of the diamond and guaranteeing the full value of the stone toward a trade up for life.
A Diamond Report that provides a thorough analysis of cut grades, and re-confirms the characteristics as represented by the GIA, EGL.
All certifications are professionally presented in an attractive portfolio for your safe keeping.
Making Fir Street Gallery your first choice for diamonds will eliminate any and all uncertainty about the quality of the diamonds you purchase. Our hi-tech approach to grading and certifying diamonds makes Fir Street Gallery a clear leader in today’s diamond industry. You might feel that all these value added services would increase the cost of buying through Fir Street Gallery, however through our strict policy of buying from only the most reputible diamond dealers who purchase direct-from-the-cutters, we have been able to offer prices that are among the best in the industry.
Have one of the Fir Street Gals help you pick the perfect diamond!
Known throughout the jewelry industry, the 4Cs -- cut, color, clarity, and carat -- are your guide to a diamond's quality:
CUT refers to the number, placement, and shape of the finished diamond's facets. This quality affects the stone's durability, cost, brilliance (sparkle), and fire (reflection of rainbow colors). Several grading systems exist, but ultimately your eye will be the judge.
COLOR in diamonds varies widely, from violet to canary yellow. The most common and affordable hues range from white to yellow. The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) offers the following color scale: D-F is colorless (white); G-J is nearly colorless; K-M is faintly yellow; N-R is a very light yellow; S-Z is light yellow; Z+ denotes "fancy" colors.
CLARITY refers to how clear or "clean" the diamond is, that is, how free the stone is of imperfections on the outside (blemishes) and inside (inclusions). GIA offers a system of clarity grades ranging from F1 (flawless; free from inclusions and blemishes) to SI1/SI2 (slightly included imperfections; considered good quality with most flaws that can't be seen with the naked eye), with various clarity levels in between. The fewer inclusions and blemishes, the more expensive a stone will be.
CARAT is a diamond's unit of weight, standardized at 200 milligrams.
